Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Rahqid Render — most notably known by his rap moniker Lil Keed — is the latest rap phenom to emerge from the city. With his mixtape Trapped On Cleveland 2 released in 2018, Keed’s distinct flow and catchy melodies quickly carved out a lane for him within the Atlanta music scene with songs like “Blicky Blicky” and “Fetish”. Catching the attention of GRAMMY Award winning artist Young Thug, Keed then went on to ink a deal with Thug’s Young Stoner Life Records (YSL) via 300 Entertainment in 2018. Shortly after, Lil Keed dropped his Keed Talk To ‘Em mixtape featuring collaborations with Lil Durk, Brandy, 21 Savage, Trippie Redd and more. From the mixtape also emerged hit song “Nameless” which quickly took over the internet airwaves earning Keed his first RIAA Gold certified single laying the foundation for the release of the critically acclaimed debut album Long Live Mexico in 2019.

Named after the rapper’s childhood friend who passed away earlier that year, Long Live Mexico cemented Keed as an artist to watch as he delivered 20 tracks of versatile flows and well calibrated delivery. While the album featured a stacked roster of guest appearances from Roddy Ricch, Lil Uzi Vert, YNW Melly, NAV, Moneybagg Yo and others; songs like “HBS” and “Snake” rapidly emerged as fan favorites. Both “HBS” and “Snake” went viral taking over Tik Tok with their own individual dance crazes and trends. “Snake garnered over 2 million Tik Tok creates and a combined 15 Million+ views on Youtube. After being selected as a XXL Freshman in 2020, Keed then dropped his anticipated album Trapped On Cleveland 3. With songs like “Wavy”, which spawned a remix from Travis Scott, and “Fox 5” featuring YSL Records labelmate Gunna, Trapped On Cleveland 3 illustrated Keed’s knack for hypnotizing melodies and erratic flows. Keeping his foot on the gas, Keed continues to dish out features and collaborations including his appearance on the Young Stoner Life Records compilation album Slime Language 2 as he prepares to release his next project Keed Talk To ‘Em 2 later this year.
